AIMCOR Group, LLC Announces Partnership with Human API to Optimize Advisor and Client Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)

PAOLI, Pa., Feb. 11, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, AIMCOR Group, LLC announced a strategic partnership with Human API, the largest consumer-controlled health data platform, to create a faster life insurance buying experience for agents and their clients by giving applicants a simple and digital way to share access to their electronic health records (EHR).

AIMCOR Group, LLC is a National Insurance Marketing Organization with a relentless desire to win and a vision of introducing excitement to our industry while making a difference in the lives of our member agencies, advisors and consumers. Human API is a Silicon Valley-based health technology company that works with stakeholders across the entire insurance ecosystem, including both carriers and their distribution partners. The Human API platform allows insurance applicants to connect and share medical data from over 90 percent of US healthcare providers (health systems, hospitals, clinics and physician offices). With instant access to medical information such as lab results, medications, vital measurements and conditions, AIMCOR and its member firms can optimize the life insurance distribution process and deliver an experience that meets modern consumer expectations.

Many Americans remain uninsured or lack sufficient life insurance coverage to meet their needs, and antiquated, lengthy, and often intrusive underwriting processes involved in buying life insurance are big contributing factors to this coverage gap. "We recognize that a large part of our industry's growth will depend on creating a better experience for the consumer," says Marc Verbos, Executive Vice President at AIMCOR Group. "As a trusted innovation partner to carriers and agencies, we're continuously looking for ways to optimize processes, create differentiation for our member firms, and leverage technology that can enhance the consumer buying experience. We see the Human API platform as a natural step in reducing dependency on time-intensive requirements such as attending physician statements and in-person medical exams. We're very excited to offer this new competitive advantage to all our firms in an effort to move the industry forward."

Through this partnership, AIMCOR Group aims to streamline the process for both formal and informal applications to carriers. By having access to electronic health records in minutes, firms can quickly determine the best product fit for a client. In addition, firms can also share this rich medical data directly with carriers so it can be used to expedite the underwriting process on formal applications.

With structured EHR data from Human API, carriers can make faster underwriting decisions by creating new risk modeling solutions and automated rules engines that can analyze the structured data they receive, improving the throughput of accelerated underwriting programs. The industry is moving toward a future where carriers no longer have to manually review scanned medical documents, but instead can rely on technology and automation to identify risk and issue policies.

"Structured EHR data has massive potential to accelerate innovation and drive the insurance industry forward," said Christian Wieland, Senior VP of Growth at Human API. "Our consumer-controlled health data platform allows AIMCOR firms to digitally collect the medical data they need and seamlessly send it to carriers. We believe this data will make it easier for carriers to figure out the best products for each consumer, and drive new business opportunities across the entire industry. We're glad to be working with a forward-looking NMO such as AIMCOR that is helping to spearhead digital transformation. This is the beginning of a worthwhile journey to leverage EHR data to help more Americans get the coverage they need, so they can protect their families."

John Hancock and Human API Join Forces to Transform the Life Insurance Purchase Process

New Initiative Enables Consumers to Share Medical Information in Real Time

BOSTON, Jan. 14, 2020 /PRNewswire/ - Today, John Hancock announces a major step forward in significantly streamlining the life insurance buying experience through a strategic collaboration with Human API, a leading health data platform, offering a simple, digital way for consumers to share access to their electronic health records (EHR) in real time.

Human API's capabilities allow for EHR data collection from over 85 percent of US healthcare providers (e.g., health systems, hospitals, clinics and physician offices). With the instant access to critical medical information such as lab results, medications, vital measurements and conditions this collaboration enables, John Hancock can further its efforts to build a simple and convenient buying experience that exceeds the expectations of today's consumers and puts them in control of their personal information.

Human API will help John Hancock improve the speed, efficiency and ease of purchasing life insurance by enabling customers to share their current and historical medical information via a digital, HIPAA-compliant authorization process. John Hancock will in turn shift toward a more personalized review process for each of its applicants.

"We recognize some prospective customers are deterred by the time and effort involved in the traditional life insurance purchase process. Radically simplifying that process and reducing the time from application to issue is a top priority for John Hancock," said Brooks Tingle, president and CEO of John Hancock Insurance. "We are reinventing the life insurance buying process and working in lock-step with like-minded distribution partners and innovative technology companies to make it happen."

"By joining forces with Human API, we can embed a simple digital authorization into our new, electronic application process, enabling customers to share their medical information instantly," added Susan Ghalili, VP, Underwriting Transformation and Chief Underwriter of John Hancock Insurance. "This is the level of service today's consumers demand and we are excited to provide it, improving the overall experience for consumers, distributors and producers."

This advance is possible because of Human API's ability to harness the power of EHR in a way that simultaneously makes it easier for the customer to share his/her information while knowing their personal data is being transmitted securely.

"Consumers today have higher expectations for how they purchase goods and services," said Andrei Pop, CEO at Human API. "Human API data allows insurers to reimagine the customer experience and holds the potential to transform the industry. We're thrilled to be working with a bold carrier like John Hancock that is pushing innovation ahead in an industry that has not been keeping up with consumers' expectations."

Access Granted: Human API expands their consumer driven health data network to 85% coverage of U.S. Hospitals

In an era when medical records are still largely scattered, offline, and difficult to access, health tech startup Human API has vastly expanded their provider data network to drive the consumer health revolution forward.  This first ubiquitous consumer health data network in the U.S. will allow people to securely share their data from anywhere with any company.

In their ambitious quest to make health data use and sharing simple and centralized, Human API now boasts a real-time, consumer-centric data network with over 20,0000 unique integrations that include 4,000 hospitals and 600,000 individual healthcare providers.  The unparalleled integrations include major health systems, stand-alone hospitals, pharmacies, labs, family practices, and individual medical doctors and nurse practitioners. Human API’s proprietary ProviderGraph technology maps over 1.2 million distinct relationships between health entities and doctors to help patients easily find, access and share their health data while ensuring their security, transparency and fluid user experiences.

”When evaluating data vendors, we prioritized those with strong reach in the provider community, and were happy to select Human API. The company's products are easy to use, and it's exciting to see them grow their network. The winning combination of strong patient data sets, and an intuitive interface, demonstrates Human API is moving in the right direction as it expands."  Says Sean Duffy, Co-Founder & CEO of Omada.

With an expanded provider network, Human API empowers more consumers to take control of their own health data in a secure, HIPAA-compliant way to create value when sharing with enterprise businesses.  Whether someone is using a new digital health application, participating in a clinical trial, applying for insurance, onboarding with a new doctor, or enrolling in a new wellness program, the Human API provider data network can digitally power those transactions in minutes (an otherwise manual process filled with phone calls, faxes and physical letters that could take weeks and even months to complete).

These sentiments are reflected by actual Human API user feedback: “I was blown away by how easily you got EHRs, and I come from the health industry...It was a shockingly complete health record delivered lightning fast...easily within 60 seconds.”

“We made it our mission to dramatically expand our provider network, so it’s really exciting for us to share this news.” says Nate Seaman, the VP of Product at Human API.   “Being integrated with 85% of hospitals in the nation means more people will be able to find their doctors within our network and share their health information digitally with the companies they want. This is a huge step for us in powering a consumer-centric health economy that puts humans first.”
